Kenya 2000

St Cenydd School is undertaking an exciting World Challenge Expedition to Kenya in the summer the year 2000. Kenya 2000 will be part of our  school's Millennium Celebration.

The Kenya 2000 Expedition will involve 17 pupils from the school, and will be a unique opportunity for these students. Working as a team they will enjoy an invaluable "experience for life" in a part of the world which relatively few young people ever get a chance to visit. The general plan is for the pupils to carry out an acclimatisation trek, prior to a 5 day ascent of Mt Kenya(5,199m), Africa's second highest  mountain. The team will also be involved in a community project in a Kenyan bush village carrying out two weeks voluntary service.

Can you help us?

Each member of the expedition is responsible for fundraising( each person has to raise 2,500 pounds) The pupils are working exceptionally hard,  both through individual fundraising by doing part time jobs, and through group funding such as organing sponsored walks, car washing, selling cakes, car boot sales, etc. However we also need help in sponsoring our expedition, either by direct financial support, assistance with fundraising, or by supplying specialist equipment.  Company sponsors would receive the following public acknowledgements:
